The San Marcos Public Library, 625 E. Hopkins St., will host its 8th Annual Texas Author Day on 2-5 p.m. Oct. 30. The event is free and open to the public.These published writers and illustrators will sign copies of their books and chat with fans. A variety of genres will be represented including Texana, mystery, romance, Sci-fi/fantasy, children’s literature, poetry, and a wide variety of non-fiction.
"The event will feature several authors speaking or reading from their books. Children’s story time will start at 2:15 with Diane Gonzales Bertrand author of Adelita and the Veggie Cousins. Also reading will be Veronique Hahn, creator of Yasmin and Zara the Magical Bee and Lupe Ruiz-Flores with The Battle of the Snowcones.
Singer/Songwriter Terri Hendrix will entertain at 3 p.m. Hendrix is also the author of the book Cry Till You Laugh: The Part That Ain’t Art. At 3:45 p.m author Ruben Ruiz will discuss his book The Richest Latino in America. Allen C. Kimball will chat at 4:30 p.m about his most recent Texas guidebook, Texas Museums of Discovery.
Books from the authors will be available for purchase at the library from the Texas State University Bookstore and from the authors themselves. An author signed book could serve as a wonderful Christmas present for readers."
